Lev Vygotsky and his theories on learning processes have been an interest of Pontydysgu for a while now and how his theories are relevant to Technology Enhanced Learning and Work Based Learning. In particular the Zone of Proximal Development and social learning as social networking and PLEs make new types of learning possible. Much of his work is based upon the use of language and how using language leads development, and therefore his theories suggest knowledge development is dependent upon a More Knowledable Other, whether this is a resource or an actual person. Research into Vygotsky was one of my first jobs with Vygotsky and remains one of the interesting.
